Your data and your rights

You can take a copy of everything we hold about you, and you can have all of it destroyed. Both are self-serve, from inside your account, and neither needs our permission. This page says exactly what happens, how long it takes, and what stays behind.
If you have an account: open your data page. Both controls are there.
How to delete your account
- Sign in and open your data page from the account menu.
- Choose delete my account, and type DELETE to confirm.
- Your account locks immediately. Nothing more is matched, generated, or emailed to you, on any device.
- 14 days later everything is destroyed: your CV files, your profile, your searches, your matches, your generated documents, your sign-in details, and the account itself.
- Inside those 14 days you can cancel with one click and everything comes back exactly as it was. After the deletion runs, nothing can be recovered.
We check afterwards that nothing was left behind, and we email you when it is done. If the check finds anything, the deletion is not reported as complete and it runs again the next night.
Why 14 days and not thirty: the law gives us one month from your request to finishing the job (GDPR Art. 12(3)). A longer waiting period would start the work at the deadline instead of well inside it.
How to get a copy of your data
Open your data page and choose download my data. You get one ZIP file straight away: a data.json with every record we hold, and a files/ folder with the files themselves, your CVs and the documents we generated. The files are the real files, not links that expire.
Two things are deliberately left out: your live sign-in session and any unspent sign-in code. Those are keys to your account rather than information about you, and a downloaded copy of them would be a way in for anyone who read the file.
What we hold, and for how long
Every category of data we store about you, with its lifetime. This table is generated from the same list the deletion runs against, so it cannot describe something different from what the code does.

Job listings are not in that table. They are public postings collected from companies' own hiring systems using nothing but the company's name, they are the same for every user, and they are not personal data. Deleting your account does not remove them, and nothing about you was ever sent to those sources.
What survives a deletion, and why
Two records outlive the account, and nothing else does.
- A dated line saying you asked us to delete your data and that we completed it. Identifiers and timestamps only. Without it we could not show that your request was honoured on time.
- Our security log, which records that a change happened: which table, which record, when. It holds no content about you, and your identity is replaced in it when your account is deleted, so it stays countable without naming anyone.
Backups are a separate matter, and worth being exact about. We take a nightly backup of the database and keep the last 7 of them, plus one weekly backup kept for 4 weeks, so a failure cannot cost everyone their data. A deleted account is never restored from a backup into the live service. Any backup still holding your data ages out within those four weeks, and nothing comes back from it.
Invoices and billing records, if any exist for you, are kept for as long as tax law requires (8 years in Hungary) and are outside the deletion. Nothing in them says anything about your job search.
Your other rights
- Access (Art. 15) and portability (Art. 20): the export above, any time, no request needed.
- Erasure (Art. 17): the deletion above, any time, no request needed.
- Rectification (Art. 16): your profile and your search settings are yours to edit in the product. For your email address, write to us.
- Objection and restriction (Art. 18, 21): write to us and we will stop the processing you object to, or lock the account while we sort it out.
- Complaint: you can complain to your national data protection authority. In Hungary that is the NAIH (naih.hu).
Who else touches your data
The list of processors, what each one handles, and where they sit is on the privacy page. When you delete your account we tell them too, as Art. 19 requires.
